A Residential Mortgage Loan Originator will not only provide the seller/lender with information so that he can make and educated lending decision but it will provide the buyer/borrower with a transparent transaction limiting future issues.

I've heard for beginners it's important to self-manage since you need to keep expenses low and it's a valuable educational opportunity.

Education and experience is key as suggested by the posts.  

One method I used to use was focusing my education into semesters.
