And having filed 1099s will be another argument if you have to defend yourself.Filing 1099 is very simple and cheap, so there is no good reason to NOT file them - other than hiring undocumented labor.

Be forewarned, it is not cheap and i believe there are other softwares out today that can handle a similiar workload, i just have not had to (knock on wood) research any of that lately.
