My suggestion for your next course of action would be to go to some REIA events and just talk with people and continue to learn the business

You would have thought that someone who is this sensitive might have picked up on the problem when they first saw the place. 

Just the costs of closing on your current home likely cost thousands more then the course of action I outlined above. 

The service is very sensitive on transfers right before sale.The second issue even more murky is that the escrow company closing and the buyer must be comfortable that FIRPTA is indeed not applicable because the property is owned by a domestic entity.  

After reading books on wholesaling, listening to lots of podcast and even  browsing the forums for years, im finally ready to take some action!

While a violation by them would result in a possible civil penalty, you are acting as an agent without a license which could result in a criminal action
