I am 25, originally from the northern Chicago suburbs, and will be moving back home in about a week.After a lot of reading/listening, I have "decided" that I want my first investment to be a house hack on the north side of Chicago, ideally in Lakeview/Wicker Park/Logan Square/Bucktown areas, but I'm open to other neighborhoods.

I did something similar when I started I picked 3 cities after doing tons of research visited all 3 and made a decision.When I visited I saw they were building a new monorail in CLT and decided to invest there.Another thing to consider to make your life easier is compare flights from your home base.

Of course this must be done within the framework of the laws, but I believe you get to decide what you think is a fair split, and then offer that to the investors that are interested.
