I’ve been doing “paper trading” to hone in my skills on assessing notes as well as getting comfortable with a financial calculator.

This is my first post, looking forward to hearing the thoughts of those who are more skilled than me.

The big money is when your property value appreciates, or when you can do some improvements e.g. adding a bedroom and bath and increase the value of the property, but this requires many skills that even pros have because they lose money all the time. 

Unlike most people here who will tell you that you should go to college as some kind of glorified tech school, a place to learn specific marketable skills in high-paying fields, I would argue that college is a good place to go because it keeps you from becoming closed-off and narrow-minded.So my advice to you as you go on and up is to read some good books and talk about them to other people.

As a teacher, I’m always looking to learn something new and improve my skills.

My work experience has always been in Advertising & Technology Sales and I feel that my skill sets and connections will help me transition into a successful full-time agent down the line.

The extra time to look for properties gives me time to relax and to do extensive property research, to sharpen my math skills for crunching numbers to compare.I like to move very slowly to make sure I am always making the best decisions to maximize my ROI.

I am a new investor (working on my first deal) and I have a partner with more skills and connections for completing the rehab of properties.
