IMO, a primary goal of REI is making enough money so that you can buy back your time and have total freedom in deciding how you spend your time.

Then once they are going I can live on low amounts of income IF I WANT TO, to have more freedom with kids and things I actually want to do.

I don't want to start my investing career as a long distance investor, and since I work from home, I have the freedom to move my family anywhere in the country so as to optimize our chances of success in this business.After much research, I have selected four cities that look promising: Orlando, FL, Arlington, TX, Huntsville, AL, and Ogden, UT.

All advertisings, books, and most internet searches and videos only tell you about the 'quick flip', the 'make $10,000 in a month', 'the financial freedom', 'the lavish lifestyles', and so on and so on....

For the freedom of time and the personal rewards. 

More importantly you have the skill set now to gain financial freedom. 

Then I am reminded of my freedom as an entrepreneur.

This adds to my plate of responsibility, but it also keeps me on track for financial freedom (more passive income than expenses).
