I mean I look at the meat counter at Costco and steaks are now 15 to 30 bucks a pound  salmon ( granted line caught and fresh) is 25. a pound etc etc..

Some of these customers can be some real tough cookies.Maybe you can "Weed" them out better than others (that's possible).But you should realize a portion of them will make your "No Pets" "No Smoking" rules seem like a grain of sand on the Omaha Beach.Here are a couple of videos I came across from @James Wise 's site, that might give you a heads up (he has done a ton of these section 8's).If you have some renter selection secrets, maybe share them on here.There are people in here that are interested in section-8.Good Luck!

Also, having to have a handyman come back to re-install the smoke detectors they took down while painting and replacing face plates in a high end rental where they painted over all of the outlets.

,My big fear is FIRE, if someone dies or gets injured on my property, i hate lawyers with a passion.... we combat this fear with adding a ridiculous amount of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, not 1, but 2 fire extinguishers, and safety ladders for 2-story houses... just spent $1K on extra supplies last month!
