My realtor just let me know that the city of Charlotte is proposing a few changes to its rental housing ordinances.While in general I support making sure that tenants have a safe and healthy place to live and owners being responsible for their properties, I do think it is always a good idea to review the changes being made and how they effect us owners.

@Maneesh Joshi maybe its different here in KY, but i've never had to turn in a lease agreement for any of the rental properties I insure for my customers. if you are rehabbing the property, you should have 6 months to get that done, but will have to put the vacancy endorsement on the policy. then remove the extra endorsement once its rented out. maybe try a different agent...

They do generally take longer to close however, since they are reviewing all your docs.If it's that good of a deal, there are lenders who ask for less and close quicker, but give slightly higher interest rates.
