Maybe the property manager could arrange a meeting and you could work something out. 

At this stage of my career, I felt it was a better move to hold a real asset and manage it than have some exotic debt reduction tool creating a paper liability. 

Knowing that property taxes and insurance always go up, that's an issue as well.And we're just at the very early stages of this scenario.

We are in the beginning stages of looking for property in Kansas City. 

With a SMART thermostat, you could probably arrange to have control of the thermostats by your own cell phone, for both the a/c and the heat. 

I have no idea what the previous owners were thinking with the cooktop/wall oven arrangement.

Work with the bank to find a way that you can control process, contractors, etc and the seller pays for them with checks at closing, cut directly to your pre-arranged contractors.  

Depending on the work/trade, sometimes there is more work in the final stage than the roughing stage.Make sense? 

I'm still in the educational stage of my journey, but hope to get to some action this summer!  

@Victor LebegueI like the first part of that agreement (being a handyman in exchange for some equity or profit sharing)I haven't heard as many arrangements for the second part (lending your credit to get 30 year notes) I'd recommend running that tactic by legal counsel to make sure you're not legally obligated if things went bad on specific properties or the company as a whole.
