Not sure how security deposits work in your state and maybe u could reimburse yourself from that.The heat only has to be 55 so it should be pretty reasonable till u get new people in, and as @Nathan G. talked about, with this model you are almost certainly going to come out well ahead with a little extra effort.

You may be able to cut an upside down U shape with the edges at a 45 degree angle, and a flap at the bottom where it is not cut, and snap the wallboard down, and then snap it back up and just have a small line to fill once the repair is done, versus a big hole.
