It ended up costing us $50,000 in additional expenses across 25 windows because once we changed the windows, we had to bring the framing around the windows up to 2023 code - which required removing the already installed windows and reframing each window down to how the studs were strapped with metal straps down at the floor.  

Now, not so much unless you are buying at deep discount and are getting materials and labor much cheaper than normal.

Lumber sky rocketing  other materials you could not get like garage doors or refer's etc etc.

The materials at the factory we are looking for is basically the same materials and constriction.

Caribbean islands are notably more difficult to operate short term rentals because of the lack of resources (materials and labor).
