Beyond the formal checklists: no evictions, 3-4x income to rent, prior landlord references, employment checks; I would also look at things like responsiveness to communication when we are setting showing, were they on time to showing, did they look me in the eye and shake my hand, did they show up to showing high?

In fact, you shouldn't communicate with them at all.Read your lease.

Tenant portals, online rent payment systems, and automated communication channels process large amounts of personal data.

We've been in communication about getting everything repaired until they found out the contractor said it would take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to fix the spots of drywall that have been removed and to repaint, etc, and now their responses to my texts are less and less.

Terrible communication.

Their communication is slow at best and you have to ask to speak with a person and hope they provide the Calendly link to schedule a time.  

I prefer larger crowds, but like you mentioned it wasn't all bad.The communication on where to go and what to do could have been better, but I still had an amazing time!

The communication has been awful and the seller is furious over the one week delay, mostly because the lender will not commit to a date.

And I'm four lines of communications away, yet still hear about it.
