I'm calling my agent now.. and reporting the situation.. had I not met the tenant last night in the driveway by chance, I honestly don't know how I would have found out what happened.

I tripped over this article the other night, which sums up a lot of what I've been thinking about REI lately: Investing in Real Estate Won't Build Massive WealthI think there are some pretty obvious omissions or flaws in it, most notably that the author is looking at ten years as an unbearable amount of time to build "massive" wealth, but that it also hits on some very important points. 

However last night I got an email from my lender saying that updated flood maps show my current flood insurance isn't adequate and the mortgage company will pretty much tack a flood insurance cost onto the end of my mortgage which could run $200/mo or more.

@Justin Coulson , I have a very targeted neighborhood, and walk around with my children every night.
