Hi Michael, Kathy,Boston based and just invested in Pittsfield for a couple of reasons, including the overall direction of the city. 

Boston being a bit in the middle in that it is a bit larger than some but does not feel like a real big city.

Amenities and Transportation: What can you tell me about the local amenities, such as shops, parks, or public transportation options?

I live in a good area, 5 minute walk to a few restaurants and train into Boston.

The mk I'm looking at is mainly in the greater Boston area.

Everyone I ask has their own opinion, but definitely the most common response I get is if the whole house is electrical baseboard then the tenants are going to have extremely high electric bills in the winter (Boston area).

I'm curious about the thoughts of more experienced RE individuals on renting vs. purchasing in the Boston area.
