I was talking to an escrow officer and she mentioned that doing assignments of contract or double closings requires one to have a license since they are considered real estate transactions.

hi dan. i have run into similar situations here in the buffalo, ny area. basically, i go to the county records office and look up the recent info on the house. if there is a bank mortgage on it, they have to file paperwork with the county to register the lien on the deed. the most recent paperwork is likely your bank you will want to deal with. sometimes, neighbors know more than you think they do, so start knocking on doors too

I'd love to find a way to leverage my enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and my slight bit of experience into a partnership/mentorship/apprenticeship with someone locally - as I'd much rather be making money doing something I enjoy than spend another day in an office. 

I am currently a Medical Office Manager and a CEO of CB Jenkins Construction, LLC which is an electrical based construction company. 

I close on Friday on two buildings (30 storage units) and a small office space.
