Personally I think the $USD is somewhat safe, but it's that "somewhat" that would cause me to want metals or property or "stuff" over liquidity (beyond what I need to keep on hand to buy when deals come up)Yes, the $UDS is strong vs. others but it's almost almost guaranteed to lose purchasing power.

I guarantee that $5,000 is worth a WHOLE lot more to A family than $50,000 is worth to B family because A uses most of its income to survive, while B uses a smaller portion of its income to survive.
