As I was making progress, the time I was putting towards my RE endeavor became dearer than my hourly job rate - so I asked for a raise knowing it'll be better off for them to keep me at the company yet I was prepared to be fired.Bottom line, it really depends on the culture of your company and the people you're working with; I got referrals, referred peers to my realtor, got a (60%) raise, and even a request for a future JV.

I advise you to obviously break down each construction cost to get your real budget etc, which you should have to track progress in conjunction with a payment schedule as to not get too far over your skis during the process  I think 6 months is much to short a time frame to rehab 6 units.
