After have gone through the bank process to get a conventional loan to purchase the four unit property, I am incredibly curious as to how it's possible to get financing for a much larger purchase, such as an apartment complex. 

Prices can widely vary literally from street to street in the same neighborhood. 

This will be a hell of a project to take on and it´s safe to assume that it will take up an incredible amount of time and energy (and stress!) 

A great group of people, with a wide variety of experience/interests, attend it. 

This gives you an idea how lax the attitude here is island wide :) This delayed the rental about 4 weeks.

On another note... around my area in upstate south carolina, mobile home parks rent old single wides for 150ish per week, and people pay it.  

The incredible low bar of entry in many parts of the US...

I know that everyone says it's incredibly rare but it's a definite concern for me.  

We own land near my husband's family and had put a new double-wide manufactured home on it in 2003 as we raised the kids.
