What I find disconcerting is we're starting to discuss the possibility of a shutdown extending into an indefinite future.California had this problem a few years ago (its state constitution specifies a deadline the legislature must meet, but has no penalty for missing the deadline).

Also the financing was from a bank and we've already got 18 months of interest only payments, so that option is kind of out, although I could see if they would extend my original line of credit.

If I'm not mistaken, CEMA is basically the concept of paying off the current mortgage and then pulling equity again for a second Mortgage which obviously is an extended period of time depending on merchant preference.

Gas line extended to ADU is preferred for sure.PG&E doesn't allow people to install gas submeters on their own (you can install an electricity submeter yourself for a few hundred dollars after filling out an easy online application).
