The part I enjoy most is speaking with noteholders.

I don't know if Venmo would get involved, but technically if a tenant were to go to them and say "the landlord told me to pay this way", Venmo would technically be allowed to reverse the payments since it is not to be used for goods and services (unless you are set up with hem as a business and have the payment button option).Credit cards are also a big gamble. 

If you do decide to go for it, a few other things in life you might enjoy are putting salt in your eyes, slamming your fingers in a door, and walking on pieces of broken glass while barefoot.

I've enjoyed working with them. 

In the end I would recommend whatever you enjoy doing.

I have paid down my first few properties expecting to keep my portfolio, pay it off and enjoy the cash flow, but I keep looking at my numbers and see all of my equity just sitting there, doing nothing.  

This may sound a bit strange because I am a real estate broker as well, and I do enjoy getting paid my commissions, but your best bet is to deploy some type of marketing to attract the motivated sellers for the types of properties you'd like to purchase

Does anyone gamble with flooded homes.

I have been into Flipping houses for a few years now and I truly enjoy it!

And I would say of the 80 different books I have on business and real estate that I have listened to on Audible over the past 3 years, I would say I enjoy his the most.
