I completely redid a unit last year in warm tones and I had cars parked down the street during the open showing. 

He may not be able to give you the kind of warranty and warm and fuzzies as the big company, but for the most part you will get the same service for a lot less.

If you get the eBay fever when you are bidding, you are bidding with your heart which should not play a role in your purchasing.
