At this point I'm trying to figure out which area might be of interest  to me, which style of investing and when to pull the trigger (you may have seen above that my fiancee only has a job for another year and after that could be moved anywhere in the world).  

Real estate investing feels right to me and I want to get involved, so I've been reading a lot of books and internet forums trying to learn more.

@Basit Siddiqi, thank you for your response.Just to be clear, out of the 40K recognized as profits to the LLC, I can deduct all closing costs thus reducing the tax burden to me when it moves as ordinary income to my return?

Does the tenant write their monthly rent checks to the property manager, or do they write them to me?

And thought maybe I would jump in with a couple properties that to me seem like they could be good deals, but obviously being a newb not really sure lol. 

It's happened to me a couple times - now I know to look out for it some areas or just wholetail so I don't get involved in any rehab at all and mitigate the risk.
