What makes property taxes even more insanely low in CA is if you are 55 or older, you can sell your primary home and buy a new one and transfer your base year value to avoid a sudden jump in taxes based on your new assessed value. yes porting your tax base is a CA exclusive from what I know and those in other states probably have no clue why would they..
