Hi BP,Just a heads up, Kidde is recalling more than 200,000 smoke alarms.

You may be able to get away with a soap and water scrub of the walls but the ceilings will need to be kiltzed and then painted to remove the yellowing the cigarette/dope smoke usually causes.

This would be our first property.We were just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom or advice or tips for owning and operating a retail center with multiple tenants like barbers, dog groomers, smoke shops etc.we are business owners ourselves and excited to assist with increasing traffic to the center and to help tenants with their digital marketing. 

Unless you like rock climbing and smoking weed there not much else there....

Here the basics that the inspector will look at:- Windows and Doors are installed and working- No major damage to floors and walls- All plumbing works, hot and cold water, no leaks, etc - Exhaust fan or window in all bathrooms- Electrical works with cover plates on all outlets/switches- A light installed in every major room, etc- Working heating system- Smoke detector on every floor- Stairs and walkways up to code

They'll issue a list of items (hard wired smoke det., fire rated doors, etc) and I'll make those items are addressed. 

He called the city to say he has no hot water and no smoke alarms.

We also do not accept smokers, as the cost of removing smoke residue after move-out can be substantial.The lowest cost option is to work with a property manager with a track record of selecting reliable tenants for the first year.

It also tells me when there is thick black smoke, there is usually a fire :)
