If it isn't in the operating agreement, it probably defaults to state law, so you need to look in the corporations law sections of LLCs and see how your state treats vacancies, it may simply revert to a single member if she resigns.Just guessing, I'd say an attorney would suggest a wife being in the company for estate issues and taxes based on your ownership, then as to marital property issues (divorce comes to mind) and that any "life events" would better be served in that manner.
