Homeowner in this area, and I own one property in Dorchester, and hopefully closing on another in that same area of Ashmont sq. in the coming weeks. 

Still, with all the efforts of my close circle, we were only able to get the basement remodel done in a four week timespan and the free labor I was soaking up dried out.

Most people with short tenancy just need items stored for a few weeks and the free first month types of ads mean you won't actually get paid at all from that tenant.....or worse, they'll come back month #2 saying "it cost so much to move, I just can afford to pay Xamount for this unit.

I've been over-dosing on BP podcasts for the last several weeks which has given me LOTS of ideas!

I offered the seller $20,000 no financing, close in 2 weeks.

IMO take the timeline out of your head, 3 weeks or 3 years of buying, the timeline doesn't matter.

I, too, was thinking about going to a six-plex or something like that for my first property but I don't have the funds for repairs and you know Murphy's Law rules in those scenarios.

We spend a few weeks a year on Sanibel and we love it.
