On a foreclosure auction, I would suggest that you find the publicized foreclosure notice, or go to the court house and look up the file, you may be able to find it on line.

The DoT is public so you know the date and amount, figure out the prevailing rate at the time of sale and you'll get a good idea of what the balance will be without prepayment.
