We live in Los Angeles but my husband is from Colorado Springs.

In Los Angeles it is common to do some work without permits.Regarding insurance, the concern is if a claim is needed and the insurance company finds out work was done without permits, they may not pay out.

Mix of guests (frequently international) who were traveling to see the Park, and weekend stays from California locals from Los Angeles or the Bay Area.
