Our plan would be to have the seller evict them, take out a short term loan to remodel the first side quickly and live in the 2nd side for a year all the while slowly remodeling the 2nd side as well. 

c...It's not the best investment but it's a way to subsidize my living while I'm stationed in Del Rio Texas for 4 or 5 years.

Hi @Sahil Raina I would suggest a LLC if for sure neither of you plan to live in it.

Can anyone recommend a great accountant they've worked with who also has experience with US Expats living abroad filing their taxes back in the US?
