I had one eviction where the tenants left about 4 days before the eviction was finalized, the power had been turned off which lead to all the food in the fridge rotting.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's a huge market for $300-a-foot homes in the 1,200sf range.There's plenty of ways to build those houses with added energy efficiency, flood-damage resistance (i.e. assemblies that dry to the exterior), and appealing styling without having to use ICF's, metal studs and SIP's.

In addition to needing to re-do the patio which is held up by rotting railroad ties, the well needs a new casing, the pool need a new plaster lining and I recently covered the expense of a flood (which insurance didn't cover).
