Been there done that.Our town decided that all multi's required a fire safety audit & the Fire Sprinkler System we were required to instal eliminated the need for many expensive tedious upgrades to 'suppress' a raging fire.

The only exception would be if you found a tenant sooner, then you are legally required to cut the former tenant loose at that point.

No problem if your intent is mostly personal use, but if your intent is generate losses or write off expenses, this can definably cut into that.
