We refinished the floors, added a master suite in the attic, fully updated the bathrooms and kitchen with new tile and appliance, added a new roof, and new plumbing and electric throughout.

According to the survey, electrical components were up by 12 percent, exterior finishes and roofing saw an 11 percent increase, insulation was up by 10 percent, and appliances saw a five percent bump up in costs.

The only appliances are refrigerators and stoves.

First, you have some major energy using appliances on your property that are going to use a lot of power no matter what (ex: hot tub, well pumps, 2 HVAC systems).

Renovations are about halfway complete and estimate it will come out to about 15k total give or take (Paint, vinyl flooring, appliances, cabinets, etc).

Without expensing our travel and CapEx for remodeling and the replacement appliances, we are still about $7k in the hole for total ownership so far.

It still needs fixtures, outlets, lights, radiators, kitchen and bathrooms finished, appliances, and a bit of exterior work.

Still need to account for roof, appliances, hot water heater, hvac, etc.
