Higher risk means higher volatility and thus a higher probability that expected returns do not actually play out as planned.The low risk markets though tend to overtime far out perform the high risk markets.

He knows that area well and that would be my first stop .Secondly there were some pretty bad actors selling US props to Aussies back in 2011 to about 2016 when the exchange rate was so favorable to Aussie dollar.. but so man Aussies got totally ripped off paying 2X 3X 5X over the actual values of the properties..

However if they were not given notice the first time it happened, no one knew why it happened so therefore I don't think you have a win, but that's just my guess.
