The problem is that China's economy is on a trajectory that is going to make it much larger than ours (unless we allow massive immigration) and we will simply not be able to match it beyond the next two or three decades.I think a good strategy for us right now would be to make multilateral institutions much stronger and also form stronger alliances with countries around China.

As an institutional lender, like a bank, they can actually make money because the employees working on the deal charge the account so to speak and the bill runs up.
