The kitchen looks "just so" in the photographs the property manager sends the LL, the sort of aspirational upper-middle-class place the aspirational tenant the LL imagines is going to live in the place would like.Then the property manager approves the first slob he sees who ticks all the boxes, the tenant shows up, lives there for three years or so, chips the hell out of the granite around the sink, beats the cabinets to hell, pops six or seven tiles out of the backsplash and sticks them back on crookedly again with epoxy, disappears in the middle of the night but leaves his roaches behind.The property manager shrugs, takes a picture, sends it to the distraught landlord seven states away.
