Take a trip and visit to do an assessment of another area that's safer and generates positive cash flow.

They would take long trips in South America or Europe and not work for months.

Am planning to take a trip to the area in a few weeks and am considering investing in the area.Curious to know how your investing is going and would love to reach out to a potential team including a real estate agent, PM, possibly contractors to get started, if you wouldn't mind sharing.  

Round trip tickets out of JFK to Bangkok are usually only $600-$700 and living very well over here for less than $1,000/m is extremely easy and possible.

I do know people who have done a quick trip to Guam in some cases to do notary, and have a nice little vacation at the same time. 

Or are you willing to make that trip every time!

i don't know anything about your situation other than what you've included in your post, but putting all your savings into one property thousands of miles away while you're not employed... doesn't seem wise.can you make a trip to toledo to start building a team up there before you buy? 

Everything about this business is a learning curve, and going back through the years of my posts you will certainly find attacks on Cleveland...in hindsight I regret taking the low road there...after a year away from BP I have a renewed perspective on this stuff and to be honest, I have grown to be a true fan of Ohio real estate in general...it's about bringing everyone up a level and promoting our state in general, not outright local market promotion at the expense of another market or market professional....hopefully the younger Columbus guys will take this same approach as they learn.btw- fresh off a Cuyahoga Valley trip and back to Ohio City for the 5th time, lol.

I'm an investor in Fargo, ND and would love to make a survey trip to Sioux Falls but want ot maximize my time there.
