I probably could have got it cheaper but I was able to take advantage of a ygrene energy loan for the project by going through the installer I used so I was only out of pocket $700 for the project and the rest gets paid back on the tax bill for the property.

Purely from a financial perspective, that's a bad decision (the cost of money for a mortgage is cheaper than for real estate loans), but I sleep better at night that way.
