New here also and looking for 1 duplex and 1 condo in Charlotte, NC area.

@Neftali Mercado - I can't speak for Texas, but here in North Carolina, a property with no mortgage that gets foreclosed due to delinquent property taxes would go up for tax foreclosure auction, and so the new owner would be whomever bid on the property at auction, for which the starting bid is the amount of taxes owed.

So we had to find a house that was a reasonable commute between Atlanta (where we live) and Charlotte, NC.
