Many, if not most, of the promoters are not really real estate people and are prey to new investors who don't know the signs.

I'll be working towards actively participating as an investor myself in the coming years and feel that being licensed and 'in the business' will only promote my potential to do so. 

Yes they do a heck of a job promoting what you can get with realestate, It seems you have to spend BIG bucks to really really get what they are talking about. but like anything what you put in you will get out.

The only item that I am trying to promote are Not For Profit REIA events in Philadelphia.

I'm not sure what the term is for these sleeper advocates is for selling commercial interests in forums, but what happens is that someone asks about some company an then you'll see rather new posters jump in with great praise an promote it with personal endorsements, some get paid to do so.So, new posters are often suspect since they are unknown in the forums.I suppose I may be a little a little closed-minded in that respect but it comes from years on here with thousands of posts an the experiences with these promoters.You are correct, the question was who has experience with the company.

I got licensed and kept my day job, working for myself, family and friends (no self marketing, promoting, etc.).I haven't regretted it at all.

@Jean Bolger  We are actually from CO and moved away for a job promotion...IN MINNESOTA. 

I marketed and promoted to new prospective dealerships to use us, and mended relationships with dealerships who had issues with us.

It was an inadvertent violation of BP's (very valid) anti-self promotion rules....I thought they only applied to selling stuff and didn't realize that they extended to free content as well.
