I'm going to Dallas, Texas in June 2018, so I'm interested in multifamily properties in the DFW area, particularly for house hacking purposes.Currently, I'm looking to get more acquainted with Dallas and finding the right people to build a great team for real estate investing.

First off, if your grandparents were like millennials today ( and did not want to own anything) look at the appreciation they would have lost out on. 2nd.

And my credit is terrible due to some bad times where I had lost my job suddenly, so right now I'm in credit rehab mode (or at least not making it worse since I have a new job and things are back on track).Mortgage balance is about 130K.

I could have lost my earnest deposit as the deal almost fell through a couple times.

One of the homes I bought with a VA loan lost about 10% in value after I bought it.

I would like to add that commercial real estate (syndication or otherwise) is a team sport.

Reason being is we had a bad experience and lost friends over it.
