I have a bunch of clients that own condos in Tahoe and use them as vacation rentals when they are not using them... the rates are double or triple what it costs to insure a very nice owner occupied home.

I am going to turn one of my units into a vacation rental.

I'd like to flip houses in the retirement/vacation community I live in 50 miles north of Grand Rapids.

One of my favorite things is to receive rental income when I am on vacation. 

People would go on vacation in the summer and leave their sprinkler systems going - I don't mean programmed, I mean going - and water would be running down the edge of the street and into the gutter for a week or two non-stop.

I'm leaning towards multi-family rental and mountain properties for vacation rental but I still like the idea of project managing the fix and flip...only time will tell.Thanks everyone!

Sooo, I looked at a property the day before I went on vacation but didn't make an offer as I wasn't sure I could make it happen being out of the country.  

For example, do you want to build wealth to enjoy 15-to-20 years from now, or finance a vacation next year, or both?  

Everyone is building for personal use and vacation rentals.  

I joke that I am waiting on him to go on vacation so I can get the deal that he missed :) When you are comfortable with your area as well and get some more deals under your belt, you may be more confident to go after those non-conventional deals.It can be overwhelming the options of ways you can make these deals happen, choose one at a time and research it until know it front to back, once done, move onto the next.
