Pay a little to get more in rent.Be sure the lease addresses how common area damage, common expenses (like toilet paper, dish soap, etc.), and common utilities will be covered.Good luck!

If they are modern and the rest of the home is nice it will probably not make a much difference.On a SFR it will impair the use of the yard space in the summer, that will put you in the same category as a corner lot.IMO a lot of major inner city roads are equal or worse than a freeway, because of ambulance and police cars, accelerating traffic and the occasional nonsense souped up car.I down own a property on a major street, so this is just my humble opinion.

I have no idea if he is insured and I'm not sure why I would care - I don't understand why the type of work I'd hire a handyman for would need that type of insurance - it's paint and drywall mostely, with the occasional odd job (new mailbox cover, for example)!

One thing to consider in your search is a lot of the locks require a network connection and a smart hub to allow remote access.For my home I am using a Schlage Connect locks and a Wink smart hub - I occasionally have issues with the remote access, so I would avoid this combination.
