Cracks in bricks outside and in the ceiling- Wood paneling throughout- Needs new roof- A/C probably should be replaced- popcorn ceilings throughoutComes with a shed out back that needs some work but could have some appealI'm thinking this has at least $50,000 worth of work- $15,000 foundation- $10,000 roof- $5,000 kitchen- $2,000 un-popcorn the ceilings- $5,000 replace wood paneling- $13,000 general other things I'm not thinking of but will happenWhat are your thoughts? 

It definitely took me some getting used to having other people walk down the driveway past my kitchen and hearing other voices in the backyard.

Two years later, when I rehabbed the kitchen and dinning room, I contracted tiling out, not because I couldn't do it myself, but I paid someone to do it in two days, where it would have taken me probably a week while working a full time job.I think there is a benefit in doing a rehab yourself just so you know what goes in to it. 

I did it over a weekend and it cost about 300.00 for the kitchen and bath.  

I have already thought about remodeling the kitchen during the summer so that I can utilize the grill and outdoor eating space. 

However, the house won’t have any functional kitchen for a while.Is there any legal requirement to have a functional kitchen before the rooms can be rented out?

I am touring the place soon but from pictures it looks like there is good flooring and cosmetics but the kitchen and bathrooms are old and could be updated with new appliances. 

I know floors everywhere, countertops in kitchen, and all bathrooms are outdated and could be updated for sure.

That fall (2016) I moved into a “dorm” (which was really a small housing unit comprised of 3 rooms, a bathroom, and a living room – no kitchen).
