@Kasey Hardt very interesting,  didn't realize this was a pattern but even I've got friends that are getting recruited to the area for medical device startups etc, so could be a very interesting trend to watch.

We live in the bay area because this is where our jobs are and we have family in the area, but we prefer to invest in landlord friendly states.

Low barrier to entry, low taxes, landlord friendly, and areas that appreciate + cash flow. 

I have friends who bought in Texas, Chicago, Minnesota and Tennessee so I've been watching those markets. 

Hi Michael, I have found value investing in Cleveland, OH because it is home to Cleveland Clinic, lot of good neighborhoods, landlord friendly laws, stable appreciation and good cash flowing properties.

As to gurus, being popular, attractive, witty, friendly, or just lovable doesn't mean they are ethical, lawful, correct or are qualified.Qualified: Now, that is an interest aspect for a teacher or instructor.
