My partner commutes an hour + everyday and works for a high paying job but the stress is killing him and making him miserable.

The majority of people in America today are very poorly equipped by our educational system to teach themselves anything useful -- they come out of school miserable autonomous learners or self-learners.

(Although some take this too far as well and end up living as a miser.)
