Try calling FSBOs and For Rent ads in the local newspaper.

To sum it up I was looking for homes that look like the grass was not cut all season, newspapers building up in the drive way, paper notices taped to the door/windows, and any other sign of a property that might appear to be distressed.

Let me try and answer these questions first as it should not be as intensive in regards to the length of my answers...I directed traffic with ads... from the city newspaper (which also would add to the internet), to the thrifty nickel newspaper, to craigslist, through military paper, through word of mouth, through my business cards, etc...

(Which is more circulation than most newspapers or local TV shows get) at retail prices.

Outside of searching newspaper ads, is anyone finding success with companies that offer leads to FSBO's (Zillow, Fizber, Redx, etc) or prospecting directly from online sources like any of the above, postlets, craigslist, etc?
