Where I live, just south of Atlanta, GA it's approximately 150 per sq ft to build, that's going to vary widely by the market though.

And I agree there was lots to like.Luckily I had a friend who showed me around the various areas and neighborhoods of Utah county and South SL County to get a feel for the tech companies, areas of development, and local/outside investor interest.

@Teekap Pate there is a very slim chance you will find something on the far north or far south side of Chicago on the lake front at that price point and even less likely chance you will find one that works with the HOA dues.In my opinion, you'd be better off looking for condos in those areas that need renovation - flipping.

I haven't seen too many from our area on here yet.....most I have seen are down south near Provo.Do you attend any local meetings?

I think the known and unknown tax implications prevent many Canadians from investing south of the border.

Even if STR goes south, we feel there is decent demand for 30+ day rentals as well as the property prices holding its value long term.
