Any American real estate investors here with experience investing in foreign markets (especially Europe) who would like to share their story?

Be aware of the market & society in general before you invest.

Why Invest in Colombia with such poor returns and so far from your home , in an not stable political climate when you can  easily  invest in the best Latin American Real Estate market, in Mexico, especially in Playa del Carmen , Quintana Roo State, Mayan Riviera ?

Hey @Brian Barcelona,First - congratulations on saving $20k at your age, most Americans don't have more than $1,000 in their savings account, so that in and of itself is quite an accomplishment.I would concur with @John Warren, find something that cash flows and get into it!

@Jordan Gillespie Exercise caution when getting advice on Canadian RE on BP because most of it will be American-specific as this is an American site. 

There would be no refinance in this situation since there was no original financing to begin with.As for the credit cards, to get a single card with a 20k or more limit would be based on your credit history, but American Express has been known to be generous with initial limits and credit limit increases after 60 days of opening the account and then 6 months again after that.
