I'd read about assisted living before but until I met him never thought it was possible I could get into the field.So fast forward some more and a little more background, I'm still working on correcting my attitude, and as luck would have it my wife has been working in the assisted living/skilled nursing/group home setting as a front line grunt level employee ever since I'd met her in 2012 (grunt is said with the utmost respect - she worked hard) so I started to bounce things off of her.Keep in touch with fellow re investor - agreement is reached that I can travel out of state and shadow his assisted living ceo for a week...did so March 2017 and learned a ton.More depressing things happen at my job April 2017 so upset with w2 job and all the negativity in the industry I was in.... one night I'm carousing re for sale listings, business listings etc and find this business newly listed for sale on an obscure bus website. 

But I'll definitely try to coordinate my next trip with the next schedule meeting.

Some companies put a 10%-15% market fee on those maintenance/repair trips.

If his lifestyle involves a fleet of limos to attend weekend parties, private jets to get around, trips to Vegas to roll the dice etc.. that would affect what avenues and instruments you look at.At 59 though, he may be slightly risk averse and not want to bungle his life savings.

I do recommend that people try to visit the one or two turnkey operators on their short list before investing - because I do think looking someone in the eye and seeing the area and properties first-hand is still a great way to assess partnership potential - but if it is not possible for you to do so, having a trusted friend or family member take a trip on your dime might be worth it.

Double check everything is on, breakers are not tripped, and panels with kills switches are installed right.  

Made three trips to the buildings department and found the file on the 3rd try because files from 1939 is still in paper form and often misfiled.

I was searching online and saw one places named Barbados.The pictures I saw was really awesome and I it made me plan a trip to Barbados.

I probably shouldn't throw them under the bus just yet as I have yet to actually realize any losses.

What does that look like after you factor in a couple of round-trip plane tickets for periodic visits?
