I cant agree more with @Kenneth Reimer and by approaching the vendor as a solution to THEIR problem is always the first & best way in..However - if they don't want to sell, they just wont.

If ventilation is a concern and you need vents than this could be a good solution for you as it opens when it is hot and closes when it is cold while still protecting against flood and rodents.
